Episode 27: Avoiding Consequences and Paying Costs

The use of consequences to prevent alcohol and drug use has not had the impact it hoped to achieve. Not everyone experiences the same consequences of alcohol and drug use; and people believe they can avoid them or they simply “won’t happen to me.” Do we think the same way about costs? While some people avoid consequences everyone experiences costs. Should we be thinking about the costs instead of the consequences when it comes to alcohol and drug use?
